Got my tickets to see MBV at Austin Music Hall in August and I am incredibly excited. I’m also gonna have to buy some of those headphones they wear on the airport runways. Looking forward to this show indeed.

Tonight I watched a documentary about Tesla. I was bummed to find out it wasn’t the band, Tesla, but instead the inventor. Either way, both are pretty cool in my book.
Song of the Day: Twin Shadow- Five Seconds
This song has been stuck in my head for about a month. It’s the song they currently play at The Alamo Drafthouse during the opening trailers. It’s pretty catchy and I kind of love it. I’ve been listening to a lot more of Twin Shadow lately. Some of their stuff has a TV On The Radio vibe to it. I believe they’re playing here in Austin at The Mohawk in Sept if anyone wants to go. Yeah they’re kind of hip, but it’s not like I’m not gonna move to Brooklyn, shop at Urban Outfitters, and only drink PBR any time soon.
Song of the Day: INXS- Devil Inside
This song reminds me of dancing the nights away at Red Fez (RIP). Austinites may recall a clothing store called Factory People on S. Congress where American Apparel is today. The coked out hipsters that ran the place used to DJ on Wednesday nights at the Fez. They sure did pump out the jams.
These were also the days when I used to carry a pair of flip flops/flats in my bag for walking and then throw on the heels when I got to the club. The things you do for free parking.
Song of the Day: DeBarge- Rhythm of the Night
I really wish current R & B was this awesome! I was thinking about El DeBarge today after I came across a news report about how he was recently arrested for drug possession in Encino. He’s looking rough these days, but drugs will do that to you. However, I do respect the fact that he still rocks that luscious mustache. Enjoy this pajama jam!
